MODERNISM WEEK PALM SPRINGS

By: Aqualillies Posted On: February 26, 2024

Modernism Week is a world-class, eleven-day celebration of midcentury modern design, architecture, art, fashion, and culture in Greater Palm Springs that takes place in February each year. The mission of Modernism Week is to celebrate and foster appreciation of midcentury architecture and design, as well as contemporary thinking in these fields, by encouraging education, preservation and sustainable modern living as represented in the greater Palm Springs area! Modernism Week has more than 120,000 attendees each year that participate in over 350 events including the Modernism Show, home tours, films & lectures, nightly parties, live music events, fashion shows, classic cars, and more.

We always love making a splash at various Modernism Week events, and 2024 was no different! Read on below to see highlights from this year’s events…

The piano keys were tinkling and glasses were clinking to kick off Modernism Week 2024! Our first Modernism Week performance was at the iconic Twin Palms Frank Sinatra Estate in Palm Springs for an event in support of Save Iconic Architecture (SIA) presented by Benjamin Moore! SIA is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization whose mission it is to bring awareness and action to preserving endangered architectural and significant cultural structures as art. A portion of ticket proceeds went towards their preservation efforts and initiatives. See more below!

To close out Modernism Week, we made an all-pink splash at Villa Sierra, otherwise known as the “That Pink Door” house in Palm Springs! Hosted by Natural Retreats, who manage some of our favorite venues in Palm Springs, the pink paradise of Villa Sierra was infused with chic midcentury flair for this glamorous cocktail party where the only rule was “think PINK!“. Check out the (very pink) photos below!
