FITNESS FAQS

FITNESS CLASS FAQs

What will I learn?
Our classes are designed for the public and no experience is required. Instructors will teach you artistic swimming basics like sculling techniques, layouts, oysters, ballet legs and more, then you’ll set your new skills to music with a beautiful and athletic routine every class. This is a full body workout with particular focus on strengthening your core and arm muscles while opening your hips. Classes are a great way to stay in shape and make friends in a supportive environment!

What skills do I need to have to participate?
You must have strong basic swimming and treading water skills, and feel comfortable moving around in water deeper than 4 feet. Prior artistic swimming experience is not required for our classes.

Do you also offer private classes?
Depending on the location, we do offer private classes! Private classes are a perfect bonding experience for a birthday celebration, bachelorette party, or just a fun Sunday. Our private classes are designed as a group event experience, rather than a one-on-one private. For more info on private classes, please email booking@aqualillies.com.

What should I bring?
– Comfortable swimsuit
– Towel
– Water bottle
– Nose Clip: we recommend this type.
– Swim Cap: not required but definitely recommended to protect your hair and keep it out of your face while upside down! Silicone caps like this and this are best as they are super durable and won’t snag on your loose hairs.
– Goggles: not required but also recommended, to be able to see underwater and protect your gorgeous eyes! We recommend these.
– Sunscreen (if outdoors)

What kind of swimsuit should I wear?
Most people like to wear something athletic in style that stays in place. You will be moving around quite a bit so you definitely want a suit that can keep up!

There aren’t yet classes in my area, help!
We hope to offer classes near you soon! Until then we would recommend reaching out to a local club team (filter by “Masters” under “Programs Offered” to find programs for adults).

Do you offer classes for kids?
Depending on location, we do provide private classes for kids. Please email booking@aqualillies.com for more information. In areas we don’t offer classes (or for public kids classes), we would recommend reaching out to a local club team.

Can I be considered for the Aqualillies professional watershow team?
Our artistic swimming classes are distinct from our professional watershow team. Our classes are open to the public and designed for candidates new to the sport who are interested in trying it out in a fun and supportive group environment; and are not typically not an avenue toward becoming a member of the professional watershow team. Our Aqualillies professional watershow team is audition-based and comprised of performers with extensive experience in elite artistic swimming and/or dance (including multiple-time Olympians and World Champions in the sport). If you would like more information about how to audition for the professional watershow team, please email casting@aqualillies.com.

Who do I contact with additional questions about classes?
Please email fitness@aqualillies.com.
