AQUALILLIES X MIAMI ART WEEK
By: Aqualillies Posted On: December 12, 2023Updated December 16, 2025

In early December each year, South Florida becomes the center of the art world when it plays host to over 20 art fairs, including Design Miami/ and Art Basel Miami Beach. We always love making a splash during this annual cultural fête, and have made appearances at various Miami Art Week events for the past decade. Miami Art Week is one of the most exciting weeks of the year in South Florida for shows and events! See more below from our performances throughout the years…

We appeared at Art Basel Miami Beach 2013 in Above and Below, an otherworldly film by Clara Cullen for Nowness that premiered at the annual art-world pilgrimage. Cullen shot the beguiling film on black and white Super 8 – watch the full film here.

During Miami Art Week 2016 we flipped our fins and made a splash for the Panerai Design Miami/ party that year, hosted by Design Miami/ founder Craig Robins at his lavish art-filled home on the Sunset Islands in Miami.

We celebrated the artists at Art Basel Miami Beach 2021 at the home of Miami legend Barbara Becker – we loved flipping our Mermaid AND Merman (!) fins for these fun photos with Steve Wilson, co-founder of the art-filled 21c Museum Hotels.

Tucked-away behind a leafy façade during Miami Art Week 2022, we surprised guests with an art-deco performance for Weishaupt Design Group‘s pool party held at the Avenue Road Miami Beach Villa! The beautiful Villa residence was designed in 1932 by Martin L. Hampton – a champion of Miami’s Art Deco vernacular.

We collaborated with Nolcha during Art Basel Miami Beach 2023 for an aquatic, fashion-focused performance showcasing 3D Meta Dress – a capsule collection of 3d-printed couture pieces! Every piece collected gave back a portion of proceeds to organizations like Girls Who Code and other Foundations helping to promote STEAM education for women and girls.

For Art Basel Miami Beach 2024, we added atmospheric entertainment to the Dine with Dez x The Untitled Magazine Dinner and After Party! The Untitled Magazine teamed up with Dine With Dez for an exclusive event bringing together a curated group of art, fashion, and entertainment insiders for an immersive dining and entertainment experience. Held at the Broken Shaker Miami Beach, the event featured a private VIP dinner followed by an afterparty with our atmospheric synchronized swimming performance alongside DJ sets from Quiana Parks, Dylan Ali, and Akia Dorsainvil. Co-hosted by The Untitled Magazine’s Indira Cesarine, along with Dine With Dez founders Desmond Sam and Ramses Rubio, the event continued the publication’s tradition of creating unforgettable moments during Art Basel ✨

For Miami Art Week 2025, we dove into The Mirage Swim Club by artist Alex Prager that accompanied her Art Basel Miami Beach exhibition titled The Mirage Factory 🍊✨💦🌴
Presented by Capital One and The Cultivist, The Mirage Swim Club invited guests to experience The Shelborne by Proper’s beautiful pool deck which was infused with Prager’s signature surrealism, timelessness and technicolor. Our ‘Lillies took to the pool throughout the week during Golden Hour, for the Venture X Gold Hour at the Mirage Swim Club! Refreshing cocktails circulated across the deck as we activated the pool for special performances, and an exclusive late-night DJ set closed out the event to keep the energy lifted long after sunset. At the center of it all, The Shelborne’s Art Deco diving board rose above the water, serving as the pool deck’s sculptural focal point. See below for more event highlights from this year’s performances! Photos by Daniel Seung Lee.
