Since 2008 the Aqualillies have been entertaining audiences in Hollywood with their brand of underwater dance, which combines ballet with synchronised swimming. Composed of former competitive swimmers and professional dancers, the ’Lillies” favor vintage swimwear and bathing caps, re-creating the glamour of the 1940s and 1950s.

This was the era of the first “aqua-musicals”, and their star, the swimmer-turned-actress Esther Williams, who brought synchronised swimming to Hollywood. The Aqualillies began with underwater fitness workshops, and have expanded to included troupes in San Francisco, New York, and Miami.
